Third World Summit of the
Telenovela and Fiction Industry

The third version of the World Summit of the Telenovela and Fiction Industry provides us new analysis elements from different points of view and multiple places all over the planet.
Since the first Summit we have accumulated data, statistics and experiences, and the access to this first-hand information becomes a valuable element when defining policies and strategies as well as making good decisions in investments.
Once again it is clearly shown that the Summit performs another function of vital importance: that of becoming the scenery for multiple agreements aimed to increase the production capacity, permanently develop product quality and consolidate itself within the worldwide market of entertainment.
The diffusion carried out by the most important media in America, Europe, Asia and Africa –like El Nuevo Herald from Miami, El País and El Mundo from Spain, Globes magazine from Israel, numerous TV channels, interviews, press reports and many other media expressions– makes the Summit the most important event of the Telenovela and the Fiction Format Industry on a worldwide scale.
It is an event that promotes the National TV Industry of the host country where it is held, stimulates economical agreements, strengthens international relations for the entertainment production, and boosts promotion and marketing elements, among many other benefits. For these reasons, many countries have been put forward as hosts for the Summit’s fourth version in 2006.
Academic sectors who are interested in the results of each version of the Summit, associations that need better-quality information to act, channels that demand consultancy for their scheduling decisions, producers who require updating to get better results, writers, artists, independent producers, scriptwriters, and creators who want representation contracts, all of them attend the annual meeting, as a way of consolidating the globalized model and as a display of the industry for the XXI century.
This new model is not a three-day event as the events of the industry used to be, but a dynamic and permanent model concentrated in this industry meeting in a determined date and place but constantly functioning in space and time. It has beneficial and constant effects and promotes economical development with the agreements reached there. All of this permits us to conclude that the IV Summit will be a much more articulated meeting. We look forward to meeting you again in Madrid in October 2006.
