Production expectations for croatian telenovelas with Latin America

Janos Roemer, HRT speaksperson from Croatia National Television, told TVMAS: “If there is a future project of “HTV-telenovelas”, it will be under discussion among the department heads of our channel, but we think it is too remote. First of all, we are far from finding someone to write the script. For the time being, we deal with not very important telenovelas and few chapter series, but we do not know if there will be a daily production yet. In relation to this, we should emphasize that in HRT programming and executive departments we want to give a chance and support our Croatian productions and writers.

Saber Amar,
International
to Walt Disney Television

dding to the Disney spectators concept of “family” , Portugal NBP producer telenovela introduced in the market where this genre is an exception becoming the first Portuguese telenovela that interested this content giant. In a recent interview by TVMAS to Manuela Caputi, Marketing and Sales International Director from NBP, explains that “It is not the typical telenovela structure with violence and teardrops, it is a fresh and new telenovela with beautiful people in a marvelous landscape, on amazing beaches and water sports and dolphins. Its target is a young audience and it adjusts perfectly to Disney contents."

Manuela Caputi, Marketing and Sales International Director and Fernando Barbosa vicepresident Walt Disney Telvision International.

Which motivation did the American giant have to acquire it?
In fact, it is not a Latin American tele-novela, but it is a European one for a typical market. There are specific mar-kets for this kind of products in Latin America.
To Walt Disney International the genre telenovela has meant entering into such a juicy business as the one they have already established. The sale of 12 telenovelas in Latin American countries is the boost to enter with this product into Europe and Asia through the diversification of its catalog with specific products for specific markets. To NBP it means a gap that opens with a major and the Portuguese telenovelas could easily get involved if the product adjusts itself as Manuela Caputi explains: “It is not on air yet because we had to edit it in less chapters and introduce much Latin music to meet the necessities of the international market”

Sold to TV Azteca and dubbed into Spanish

A European one Telenovela for a typical market.

Saber Amar, a fresh and juvenille story of NBP from Portugal.

Reliable sources informed us that this telenovela will be dubbed into Spa-nish by TV Azteca, Mexi-can company that bought it to broadcast it. NBP te-lenovelas are successful in Portugal and they do well in similar markets as Caputi assures “Now we have given the step and we should improve the product to adjust it to the markets where it can be a success.”
